I Was Way Off!

I thought I didn't like Obama as president because he grew up with such a racist, radical pastor. Because he was in so deep with Acorn during the campaign. Because he changed his mind on investigating our CIA for using force to get information from terrorists. Because he wanted a public healthcare option to cripple 1/6 of our economy. Because he signed the largest spending bill in the history of our country and couldn't even tell us where all the money was going. Because he forced out the CEO of an American auto company and put his own appointee in the position. Because he shakes hands and gets reading advice from Hugo Chavez. Because he is taking missle defenses away from our most loyal allies. Because he appointed a communist to be in charge of green jobs. Because he granted a position with the power to regulate the pay of wall street CEOs to a person who thinks animals should be able to sue people. Because he wants to shut down guantanamo bay and send those religious fanatical terrorists to American prisons with regular criminals and among our citizens. Because he spent billions but did nothing to stop the rate at which Americans were filing for unemployment. Because he has spent more time on television than in the oval office. Because he's given more speeches then days he's been in office. But then Jimmy Carter told me it was just because he was black. I don't know what I was thinking.

Why Isn't Weed Legal?

If I hear one more ignorant person say "they won't legalize weed cuz they can't tax it" I might just start calling them names. Where did people get that theory? If weed was legal then that means there would be private industry producing and selling it. There would be a sales tax on that just like there is on alcohol. I think what they are talking about is if someone were to grow their own then the government couldn't tax that. Well first of all if you did grow your own they wouldn't tax it but legally you couldn't sell it. Legally you can't sell alcohol without a permit. But even if you did grow your own how many people would? If you haven't noticed we live in a society that is obsessed with being lazy. How many people do you think are going to risk breaking the law by buying it from someone or take the weeks it would take to grow their own when they can run down to the gas station and buy it and get high right then? How many more people would be exposed to this drug once it's legal? Don't you think that more people are going to try it under the impression that since it's legal it's not as harmful they thought? Another reason I don't believe they will legalize it is one of the same reasons gambling isn't legal everywhere: think of the lives it could ruin. How many people would be getting high and driving? How many people would be robbed or hurt by someone who doesn't want to buy it from the store? How many underage people would have it? You can say "well young people have it now and they aren't supposed to so what?" but there are less drug dealers in this country than there are gas stations. The whole point is that why would you legalize something that has more negatives than positives? Can anyone tell me a positive from legalizing weed other than the money that will be made from it? I say putting more of a drug in circulation leads to more crime, more intoxicated drivers, and more lazy people. Just think about things for a while before you say something like "they can't tax it" because that's just crazy.
