The Next Bear Bryant?
Urban Meyer is a great coach but to hear an ignorant Florida fan call him the next Bear Bryant is ridiculous. I guess that gator fan doesn't have a clue as to what Bryant accomplished over his career. This man gave Kentucky their first bowl win, their first sec championship, their first co-national championship, and went on to beat #1 ranked oklahoma. He then went to texas a&m and won the southwest conference championship, had his first heisman trophy winner in John David Crow and finished with an overall record of 25-14-2. Then he came to the university of alabama and won the national championship in his second season. In 25 seasons he won 6 national championships and 13 sec championships. This man retired tied for most wins by a college coach. Now Meyer has had an impressive resume but let's be realistic. He has had a heisman winner and runner up at the quarterback position for both of his national championships. Not to mention he has been successful during the down years of both Miami and Florida state who were both national championship contenders year in and year out when Spurrier was there and Spurrier still won a national title. He led Utah to an undefeated season with wins over teams like utah state, air force, new mexico, north carolina, san diego state, and unlv just to name a few. Pittsburgh was the only nationally ranked team they played and they were ranked 20th. Meyer could turn out to be one of the top 5 greatest football coaches of all time but to say that he is even close to the same level as Paul Bear Bryant is just some cocky fan who wants to ruffle the feathers of some alabama fans. It's a ridiculous statement and I hope for the sake of the entire florida fan base that there's not many people who agree with him.

Alex Smith first overall pick from Urban Meyer's Utah...you forget he's only been coaching a decade..give him sometime i think its a ridiculous statement to make at the time...but with all the parady in college football it'll be hard to match the achievements
