I do believe that I could really go my entire life without hearing about Brett Favre not being able to make his mind up about playing football for someone. It's easy to feel like you still got it when you're tossing bombs to high school kids in your cargo shorts but don't be fooled, he's old and he shows it half way through the season, just ask the jets. Not only that but didn't Thomas Jones say Favre cost them some games? That's a lot coming from your star running back. Don't get me wrong, he's a hall of famer with the great numbers and a super bowl ring in two appearances but give us a break Brett. You held the Packers hostage for so many years, kept Arron Rogers from becoming the starter for those many years and influenced every draft move the packers made while you couldn't make your mind up. Finally you say you're retiring then change your mind and the Favre vs. the Pack soap opera ensues. Just retire already. Enough is enough. Do the vikings really need him so bad that they would give him 10 million bucks to play for a year? Tom Brady makes 10 million a year and he's won multiple superbowls and had an undefeated season, arguably the best quarterback of all time...arguably. Brad Childress, listen to me...Brett Favre is too old to lead your young team to a super bowl and why would you want to mix all that young talent up with some old veteran who's not gonna be there next year? Instill some stability. Sign a talented free agent or even better you could sign Mike Vick. I know, Vick has never been a great passing quarterback and never put up unbelievable numbers from inside the pocket but you have to understand that he won't have to in Minnesota. There is Adrian Peterson to take care of the need to go deep. Can you imagine if Reggie Bush would have been drafted by the Falcons when Vick was there? This would be similar. Take the most explosive and possibly versatile back in the league and give him a quarterback who can run a 4.3 and may be more elusive than him and see what happens. Not only would the options be enormous out of the backfield but think of the recievers it would free up. With two guys that can beat an entire defense by themselves at the two most vital positions on the offense you would have secondaries not knowing what to do with themselves. Maybe i'm looking past some of Vick's flaws and thinking he would fit in great but maybe he would. I'm just saying I think they would be better off with a younger, more athletic, more explosive guy who's not going to hold your team hostage at the end of the year. Plus I'm sure he'll take the job for less than 10 million a year. A lot less.

Well its not that brett is that good right now, its not about that...but you must havnt payed much attention to the vikings the last 3-4 years and know that even that brett favre is better than any qb on minny rosters and you cant compare what he did with the jets bc the vikings are not the jets....thomas jones is not AP and the jets were never superbowl contenders when they got brett..no one talked about that but if he would sign with vikes they would be superbowl contenders but trust me, this isnt the last time we have heard from favre....he didnt have surgery for the first time in his career just to see if he could try to comeback...just wait
